Block Override

If your administrator has enabled site override capabilities, you will have the ability to override certain blocks using the  account administrator password.  This password may be entered in the Override portion of the blocked screen:

If the correct administrator password is entered, the request access will be allowed, according to the parameters below:

Override Scope:

When overriding a blocked website you may choose whether to override for just the website specified, or to turn off filtering altogether for a specific amount of time.

When overriding an application block you may also choose to turn off filtering for just that one application (i.e., an Instant Message client) or turn off filtering entirely for the specified length of time.

If only the specified site block is overridden, access to another blocked website will cause the block screen to  reappear, and the administrator password must be entered again if access is desired.  Multiple overrides can be in effect simultaneously (i.e., website1.com can be overridden for 15 minutes, while website2.com can be overridden for 24 hours, etc.).  To override

Length of Override:

To limit an override to a specific amount of time, specify the number of minutes or hours for the override.  The default is 5 minutes.

Override will be in effect until the specified time limit is reached, the next reboot or logout, or overrides are cleared, whichever comes first.
